We are looking for experimental and narrative works that explore magic, mysticism, ritual, and connections to the earth and nature. Possible themes include sorcery, witches, warlocks, the occult, psychic phenomena, darkness, covens, spells, potions, animism, curses, the healing power of crystals, herbs, tarot, and astrology. Shorts under 20 mins preferred, but any length accepted. Artists from SF and the Bay Area encouraged. . Online submissions.

Josiah Media Festival 6/1/14
The Josiah Media Festival is URBAN-15’s annual nationwide film and media event that is open only to filmmakers age 21 and younger. It is named after Josiah Miles Neundorf, a talented media artist from San Antonio, Texas who passed away in 2006 as a result of osteosarcoma. In honor of this artist, his parents, Marcus and Nancy Neundorf, and the URBAN-15 Group created the Josiah Media Festival, an annual film festival designed to showcase outstanding works by young film, video, and media artists. Winning filmmakers in each category will receive B&H Photo and Video gift cards: $250 for 1st-place, $100 for 2nd-place, $50 for 3rd-place, An additional $250 B&H gift card will be awarded to the “Best-of-Show” winner! All local filmmakers MUST be in attendance at the Josiah Media Festival Awards Ceremony July 12, 2014Film Categories: Narrative, Documentary, Animation, and Experimental. 20 minutes maximum. Is the only Italian Festival specifically dedicated to the visual aspect of film narration and the diffusion of image culture. The Festival is offering the audience the possibility of an in-depth analysis of themes related to the art and technique of cinematographic art, which are the main parts of filmmaking. Its unique and original formula is based on a qualified, international partnership which allows a direct participation of experts in the field, starting from European cinematographers to whom we dedicate the main showcase of the Festival. The partnership is enriched by the participation of students from numerous European and International film schools in a residential CineCampus. All participants take an active part in a wide range of initiatives – master class, technical workshops, Q&As, realization of a series of short films – which complete the cultural program of the festival. Terre di Cinema is proud to collaborate with leading world brands, producing equipment for cinematographers. In this sense, the Festival distinguishes itself as a center of technological innovation and as a professional update available for a skilled audience and for students attending the CineCampus. The Festival’s European and International aspects are substantiated by the programming which contains the mostly European, non national films and, in particular, by the main section – the New Cinematographers Award – which is dedicated to young and rising cinematography talents in European panorama. Moreover, special attention is given to works from European countries with a low audiovisual capacity, with a themed section called Focus On – reserved for young authors. The Fifteen days of the Festival are the crucial moment of a decentralized national and international strategy which will evolve during the year with lateral events aimed at young audiences and organized with a collaboration of partners operating in the fields of traditional and modern media with the scope of obtaining the maximum diffusion of the Festival’s cultural approach. Webster University’s student-run Animation and Interactive Media festival, is sending out our last call for submissions and invitation. Our committee would like to offer students and student clubs worldwide the experience of attending the festival or a chance to submit original work to the festival.  This is an opportunity to have their work showcased to an audience, including professionals, as well as build up exposure on their resume. Submissions may include: Original animation shorts (2D, 3D, and Experimental), Original artwork (3D modeling, comic books, illustration, and concept art) Original computer applications, video games, and interactive media. Voices from the Waters 2014 – the 9th International Film Festival on Water invites you to be a part of the festival by contributing short, documentary, animation and feature films on water and related issues. Voices from the Waters is conceived as a travelling film festival. The selected films after being premiered in Bangalore will be taken to educational institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations, small towns and villages across the world followed by discussions. categories: Water Scarcity, The Dams and the Displaced, Water Harvesting/conservation, Water Struggles/Conflicts, Floods and Droughts, Global Warming and Climate Change, Impact of Deforestation on Water-Bodies, Water, Sanitation and Health, River Pollution, The Holistic Revival of Water Bodies, Water and Life.
