Animated Eden 7/31/13 (extended deadline)*
Eden Valley’s animated short film showcase, taking place on the edge of the Lake District, within the grounds of a 14th Century stately home. The day will include animated short film screenings both local and worldwide, talks and Q&A by animators, live music and refreshments. Submit by mail or send email with link to film.

Balkanima 8/10/13*
The festival has three competition programs: short animated film (25 min max); student animated film (film school work or a diploma work); film school or workshop (program of films). Animated films of European production which are not longer than 25 minutes, made by frame by frame technique, computer animation and combination of live footage and animation (where complete part of live footage doesn’t exceed 50% of complete film length) are eligible for festival screening. Fredrikstad Animation Festival (Norway) 09/01/2013
Fred­rik­stad Ani­ma­tion Fes­ti­val is the oldest and lar­gest ani­ma­tion fes­ti­val in the Nor­dic region, with roots back to 1994 and Ani­merte Dager in Oslo. One of the pil­lars is our Nordic– ​​Baltic com­pe­tition for ani­mated shorts with the awar­ding of our own price, the Gol­den Gun­nar. The fes­ti­val is also one of the nine ani­ma­tion film fes­ti­vals which nomi­nate films for the pre­sti­gious Euro­pean ani­ma­tion award Cartoon d’Or. Each year the fes­ti­val invi­tes famous actors in the inter­na­tio­nal ani­ma­tion industry and guests from famous stu­dios such as Pixar, Dis­ney and Aard­man has pre­viously visited the fes­ti­val. IFAD ANIMATION FESTIVAL CHILE (Chile) 09/23/13*
Call professional national and international schools and works. Organizing special emphasis on animation productions coming from authors and producers to promote issues such as cultural identity of peoples, social issues, experimentation and new visual languages. We express special interest in consider convening animation works from art schools, audiovisual design and animation, for which we created a specific category of exhibition and competition. Freedom Film Fest (Germany) 9/30/13
FFF accepts films with human rights themes in all formats (documentary, short fiction and animation). The preferred length is not more than 60 mins although films with longer duration may still be considered. Films that are not in English language must contain English subtitles. International Film Festival Tofifest (Poland) 7/31/13
Tofifest is recognised in Poland as the rebellious festival and it is considered to be one of 10 biggest film events in the country.Films can be entered for the following three film competitions: ON AIR International competition. We accept full-length debut films or sophomore films of a given director, provided that they were made after 1st January 2012. SHORTCUT International competition. We accept short films that are no longer than 35 minutes: storylines, documentaries, animations, and experimental short films, made after 1st January 2012. It is not required to submit debuts for this competition. FROM POLAND It is a national competition for full-length feature films, made in Poland or co-produced with Poland, after 1st January 2012. Tenderflix 7/28/13 * Midnight BST (time conversion recommended if not in the UK)
Submissions for TENDERFLIX 2013 are now open. In its sixth year, TENDERFLIX is a juried international film and video festival, presented by TENDERPIXEL in central London. The festival is open to film and video in all genres, with just two stipulations: all entries must be less than ten minutes long, and completed since January 2012. Each artist can apply for TENDERFLIX with one film (online only). While there are no thematic restrictions for entries, this year’s festival seeks films testing the limits of narrative–as an abstract, illustrative, or otherwise convention-defying force.

London Palestine Film Festival Screenings ongoing

Viennale festival 7/31/13 *Submission by invitation only
If you would like to submit a film or video we kindly ask you to send us a ONE PAGE SYNOPSIS so we might get a first impression of what the film/video is about. If you have not received a request for a preview screener within two weeks after sending in the synopsis, the film/video has not been chosen for preselection. The Viennale predominately shows feature and documentary films, as well as selected short films.

OZU Film Festival 7/31/13
International short films contest. The Festival aims at promoting cinematographic art, especially in the form of short films, to show the audience all the different aspects of contemporary international cinema. The Festival will also feature a series of side events, also known as Ozu Events, aimed at promoting cinema and art. The 21st edition of the Ozu Film Festival will feature the following categories: Ozu 21, Ozu 2-Short, Ozu Animation, Ozu Doc, Ozu Tatami Shot, Ozu Kidz, Ozu Local Ozu Specials. International Short Film Festival Winterthur 7/31/13
Short films of all genres are accepted for submission to the Competition of the International Short Film Festival Winterthur, as long as they have been made within 2012 or 2013 and their length does not exceed 30 minutes. Films submitted for the Swiss Competition (CHurzfilm) can be films made by either Swiss filmmakers or non-Swiss nationals residing in Switzerland. DVD, ftp server upload or reelport submissions.

Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival 7/31/13
An independent film festival which aims to inspire, enlighten and entertain outdoor enthusiasts, whether they are climbers, skiers or snowboarders, kayakers, BASE jumpers or explorers.The EMFF is now seeking film submissions for the next festival. Prizes are awarded. Films can focus on any aspect of mountain life and culture, wilderness and adventure, and can be documentary or fiction. We are especially interested in films focusing on all forms of climbing, snowboarding, skiing, snowblading, mountain biking, BASE jumping, kayaking, surfing, BMX-ing, sea kayaking, canoeing … the list goes on.
