Since there are so many animation festival deadlines coming up in the next month or two, along with new updates (*), I have re-listed other upcoming animation festivals as a reminder.

Animated Eden 7/31/13 (extended deadline)*
Eden Valley’s animated short film showcase, taking place on the edge of the Lake District, within the grounds of a 14th Century stately home. The day will include animated short film screenings both local and worldwide, talks and Q&A by animators, live music and refreshments. Submit by mail or send email with link to film.

Balkanima 8/10/13*
The festival has three competition programs: short animated film (25 min max); student animated film (film school work or a diploma work); film school or workshop (program of films). Animated films of European production which are not longer than 25 minutes, made by frame by frame technique, computer animation and combination of live footage and animation (where complete part of live footage doesn’t exceed 50% of complete film length) are eligible for festival screening. DVD Submission, Pal video forrmat.

Stoptrik International Film Festival (screenings in Slovenia and Poland) 8/15/13
Films submitted to the competition should be no longer than 30 minutes and produced after Juanuary 1st, 2011. Please, note that we accept films made ONLY in the techniques of stop motion animation (puppet animation, clay animation, cut-out animation, object animation, sand animation, pixilation, mixed). Submit entry Form and DVD by post.

Animation Celebration (Kansas) 08/21/13
Do you have an animated short or feature that you would like to see on the LARGEST screen in the state of Kansas (75 x 100 ft.)?   The Midwest Association of Professional Animators (MAPA) is proud to once again partner with CinemaKC to present our annual Animation Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013. This rare opportunity will give student, amateur and professional animators a chance to screen, discuss and answer questions about their respective works side-by-side. Animae Caribe 8/30/13*
We will be celebrating its 2013 edition with dynamic, beautiful animations from around the world.  Workshops and panel will include discussions on animation and the diaspora, the business of animation, digital media and storytelling, the future of Caribbean stories and folklore in a digital world and so much more. This is a space for dissemination and display of animations made by students and graduates of animation schools, independent animators and producers by national and international. Web submission.

Expotoons (Buenos Aires) 8/31/13
Aims to make a contribution to the development of the animation industry as well as to promote the interchange of knowledge and experiences among the different countries in order to establish international relationships between producers and creators. The Competition is open to animated feature films, short films, TV series, commercials and graduation shorts, finished by film or digital mediums. DVD submission.

Fredrikstad Animation Festival (Norway) 09/01/2013
Fred­rik­stad Ani­ma­tion Fes­ti­val is the oldest and lar­gest ani­ma­tion fes­ti­val in the Nor­dic region, with roots back to 1994 and Ani­merte Dager in Oslo. One of the pil­lars is our Nordic– ​​Baltic com­pe­tition for ani­mated shorts with the awar­ding of our own price, the Gol­den Gun­nar. The fes­ti­val is also one of the nine ani­ma­tion film fes­ti­vals which nomi­nate films for the pre­sti­gious Euro­pean ani­ma­tion award Cartoon d’Or. Each year the fes­ti­val invi­tes famous actors in the inter­na­tio­nal ani­ma­tion industry and guests from famous stu­dios such as Pixar, Dis­ney and Aard­man has pre­viously visited the fes­ti­val. Les Sommets du cinéma d’animation (Quebec, Canada) 09/20/2013
The Sommets du cinéma d’animation de Montréal (Montréal animated film summit) is an international festival dedicated to animation in all its forms, from heritage films to new media by way of current production. Over five days, every space at the Cinémathèque québécoise moves to the rhythms of animation! A unique event in Quebec, the festival celebrates an art form that has long brought international recognition to Quebec and to Canada.

IFAD ANIMATION FESTIVAL CHILE (Chile) 09/23/13*
Call professional national and international schools and works. Organizing special emphasis on animation productions coming from authors and producers to promote issues such as cultural identity of peoples, social issues, experimentation and new visual languages. We express special interest in consider convening animation works from art schools, audiovisual design and animation, for which we created a specific category of exhibition and competition. Max. 20 minutes.. There is freedom of subject matter and techniques, covering everything from narrative to experimental languages. Submit through Click for festivals.

Competition is open to all Filipino animators. They do not have to be residents of the Philippines. student or professional.
