CINEMAGIC (Belfast) 7/21/14
Cinemagic is an international film festival for young people based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.  It was established in 1989 and over the years it has developed a worldwide reputation for excellence in children’s programming and is currently the largest award-winning children’s film festival in the United Kingdom and Ireland. DVD submission.

an online event that celebrates short visual production made or created in any format, media or equipment: Cell phone, Film, Video, Animation, Flash, Machinima or whatever. The maximum length of submitable productions is 1 minute. Submit through web site.

Angers Film Festival 10/15/14
The selection is open to first and second feature films, first short films and student films produced in Europe in 2012 or 2013. DVD submission.

Tricky Women Animation Festival (Vienna) 10/17/14
Tricky Women is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women. Upload via shortfilmdepot or send by post.

Images Festival-S is for Student Program (Toronto) 10/17/14
Independent media arts festival. Student films or videos, no more than 20 minutes in length are eligible for entry into our annual S is for Student program, which is curated by a special jury of students and recent graduates. Submissions to this student program are exempt from the entry fee for up to two works per artist. If students elect to submit to the general Film/Video Competition program (rather than in the student category), the entry fee requirement applies. Submit by post or online method.

Noir Film Festival (Italy) 10/25/14
The Festival’s main aim is the promotion and diffusion of the noir genre in its various forms (crime story, suspense, thriller, horror, fantasy, spy story, whodunit…) in Italy and throughout the world, by presenting previews (in and out of competition), retrospectives, meetings, exhibits, and so forth. DVD submission.

Independent Days (Germany) 10/31/14
No specific guidelines regarding running time, genre or format. However, the production costs of the films must not exceed 2.500 Euro per minute of running time. We will differentiate between the categories “No Budget” and “Low Budget”. DVD submission. Note: 2014 Entry Form link is in center of page.

Mono No Aware Festival 10/31/14 (received by date)
an international exhibition open to any person or group of persons making contemporary art that incorporates Super 8mm, 16mm, 35mm or altered light projections as part of a sculpture, installation, dance, or expanded cinema performance. Link to website or other documentation of project acceptable.

CINEMAGIC YOUNG FILMMAKER (Belfast) 11/14/14
Filmmakers aged 4-25 from the UK and Ireland, are being invited to submit their short films to the AES Cinemagic Young Filmmaker Competition . new category:  ’we are the energy’ calling for films about renewable energy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and energy and the environment.
