Since the film there was not so many ways of making films. Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival – Curta Cinema 7/25/13
Dedicated to the promotion and exhibition of short-length audiovisual works. The Festival shows works finalized in 35 mm as well as digital format, with a maximum length of 40 minutes, and is both competitive and informative. The program of the festival in 2013 will be made up of: International Competition, National Competition, Latin-American Panorama, Rio de Janeiro Panorama, Special Programs, The Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival – Curta Cinema – qualifies the winners of its National and International Grand Prix to enter the competition for an Oscar nomination by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. CCAD Storyboard Competition

CCAD Storyboard Contest (Columbus, OH) 6/1/13
Columbus College of Art & Design has just been designated as a Center of Excellence in Education by Toon Boom, a global leader in digital content and animation software. CCAD is the first college or university in the U. S. to receive such an honor. To mark this occasion, CCAD is launching a storyboard contest for high school students. Students are invited to create and submit a storyboard for a short film (not to exceed one minute of screen time). Entries will be judged on their creativity and clarity of communication. Prize: a  $2,950 (full-ride) scholarship to attend CCAD’s residential summer program College PreView in 2013. During the three-week program the winning student will focus on Animation or Cinematic Arts and have an opportunity to work with Toon Boom’s production suite software.

Media That Matters Film Festival 5/15/13
Following New York City Premiere, Awards Ceremony, Educator’s Forum and industry networking events in early October 2013 (date TBD), your film will take part in the Media That Matters international, multi-platform campaign with DVD distribution, broadcasts, streaming and hundreds of screenings across the globe! Hundreds of thousands of people, including educators, activists and nonprofits, will watch and use your film. All submission must be under 12 minutes. Documentary, animation, PSA, experimental, narrative, music videos – be creative!

 All submissions must clearly address a social-justice issue.  This year we are looking for films on Environment and Sustainability, Healthy Living for Young People, Sexual Identity – but all social issues are accepted. Youth-produced projects are encouraged. Email application with hyperlink to your film, include password information.

Ecologico International Film Festival 5/20/13
Our goal is the discovery and development of independent film social, national and international, committed on topical issues typical of contemporary society. The EIFF is the place where you can meet authors and get to know those films that by their nature are difficult to use and approved through traditional distribution channels. Upload film.

Colourfest 5/14/13
In 2013, we offer two categories of entries: Australian Stories: Colourfest invites you to submit films made in Australia featuring stories and characters from culturally diverse backgrounds. I am Diaspora: Colourfest invites you to submit films reflecting the migrant experience from around the world. We are particularly interested in the post colonial movements of people of colour. Colourfest prioritises films that involve processes of authentic storytelling, i.e. where the writer, director or producer is a member of the community of which the story is about. All films must be produced in the last TWO YEARS and be under 20 MINUTES in length. Send DVD or USB by post.

Tapiales Film Festival 9/6/13
Festival is only open for fiction, animation and documental short films. Films submitted must be Spanish spoken or subtitled. Films under 20 minutes. Submission requirements (mandatory): 2 copies of the short film must be submitted on DVD format presented in a plastic box.

Aniμasyroς International Animation Festival

Aniμasyroς International Animation Festival (Greece) 7/15/13
The animation festival embarks to Ermoupoli at Syros Island, takes over the Apollon Theater, the Cultural Center, the University of the Aegean as well as Miaouli square and introduces us to an imaginary world full of moving frames! Since 2008, the festival endorses the Cycladic sun and hosts screenings, tributes  to international Festivals, the professional forum inviting renowned Greek & foreign artists and professionals, workshops for students and elementary students, the making of -an applied workshop that records every minute of the festival-, parties and other parallel events. Purbeck Film Festival

Purbeck Shorts Competition accepts any genre/form of animation, documentary, drama.  The festival has been running for 17 years this year and our Purbeck Shorts Competition involves screenings on Friday, 18th October at the Rex Cinema, Wareham, Dorset. Jury Prize, Audience Award and Student Award will be presented. Films should be of 10 mins or less. DVD or link to online version for selection purposes, but the final version would need to be on dvd.
