Hi all,
I retweeted the Hakker Short Film Festival on twitter, but wanted to mention it here. It is due in a couple days and requires dvd submission, but it is in nyc, and sounds like fun. I have also included a couple festivals that were sent to me recently. If you run a film festival, don’t hesitate to fill out the submission form. It might take me a couple days, but I will post it, especially with a friendly reminder.

Hakker Short Film Festival 8/31/15
Hakker Short Film Festival is pleased to invite filmmakers to submit short films for screening at this year’s festival, which will be held September 20th, 2015 at The Half Pint in New York City from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. Any genre. Limit of 18 minutes, 18 seconds. DVD submission. (2 copies)

Caminhos Film Festival 9/11/15* free if received by early bird ddl
Caminhos Film Festival is not just about the presentation of works by established authors. There is another component in this festival which makes it unique in the country: the highlighting of filmmakers who has just began their careers, on the “Essays Selection”. On this International Essays Selection, we aim to promote filmmakers, and their schools, from all over the world and establish a comparative point-of-view with Portuguese Academic Film Production. The best projects will be selected and presented to a dedicated jury, which then award the prize for best international essay. Online submission.

Monsoon Asia Film Festival 10/02/15
Festival will first take place in Taoyuan on 21-29 , 2015. Share your short film with our local audiences! Screenings will take place at official festival venues, including, but not limited to: Taoyuan city. Possible themes include, but not limited to: Migrant workers in Taiwan, storytelling of children with foreign parents; interracial relationship in Taiwan; transnational culture and identity; multicultural imaginations in Taiwan. If you are looking for something to do in the last couple days of August, think about creating a do it in ten 10 second animation on the theme of “Late”. And if you don’t make this month’s challenge, check back for the September theme. ;)

‘Do it In Ten’ is Show Me The Animation’s monthly animation challenge. The challenge is simple, we give you a theme and all you have to do is respond to that theme within a ten second animation.

We showcase every entry upon the Show Me The Animation website, in our App, and at our Animation nights. At the end of each month we then select a monthly winner who is put forward into a Best of challenge at the end of the year and be in with the chance of winning an animation goodie bag. 2014’s goodie bag consisted of The Art of Short Films (Paperback), Pixar Short Film Collection 1 & 2 (DVD) and The Boxtrolls (DVD).

Leamington Underground Cinema Festival 2015 Kickstarter 53 hours to go

Hi all-
I think everyone who follows my blog and reads my posts has an interest in film festivals. Especially if you are in the UK, this kickstarter allows you to acquire items related to the festival, such as posters and passes. Check it out. I just thought it might be of interest to my readers, and help the festival keep costs low.

Waterside I – 0 9/13/15
As part of Waterside Arts Centre’s 10th anniversary celebrations we are pleased to announce a series of micro commissions designed to showcase the work of emerging artists working within two-dimensional disciplines. We invite animators, multi-media artists, video artists, digital artists and photographers to submit work to be presented via the Waterside Art Centre’s 55-inch digital monitor. Ludicious – Zürich Game Festival is a networking and exchange platform for independent game developers, which will take place for the second time from January 21 – 24, 2016 in Zurich, Switzerland. With the «International Competition» Ludicious wants to find the most innovative games by emerging studios and young talents while the «Student Competition»  will honor the best student project. Call for Short Canadian Documentaries- Deadline today

Ottawa Indie Fest 07/31/15
Ottawa Indie Fest has entered into a partnership agreement with One World Arts regarding a “Call for Short Canadian Documentaries” for its 2015 edition of the One World Film Festival. Launched in 1989, the One World Film Festival has become Ottawa’s longest running annual documentary film festival focused on social justice, human rights and environmental issues. Currently Ottawa Indie Fest is seeking submissions for short Canadian documentaries for One World Film Festival’s 2015 program. Online submission through FilmFreeway.
