The PhotoPhore, proud partner of ADAF 2017, opens its call for artists #PostReality. We are searching for video-art works, short movies, digital and animation films, to include in our official selection for the 13th Athens Digital Arts Festival – ADAF 2017. The screening will be part of the festival programmed from May 18 to 21, 2017, in Mitropoleos 23 str, in the historic center of Athens, Greece.

15 Second Horror Film Challenge
15 Second Horror Film Challenge 10/15/17
15 Second Horror Film Challenge is a nonprofit international film-making contest which dozens of celebrity judges decide the Top 20, share their personal Top 5 picks, and award films in a variety of categories. Filmmakers can submit as many fifteen second horror films as they wish. Call from entries is from now until Oct. 15th 11:59pm EST. Full program premieres Halloween. Results process and release throughout November into December.

Hi all-
Well, I just lost an hour with daylight savings time… we sprung forward, despite that we are expecting snow here tomorrow. Even if the weather is unpredictable, I hope everything is well creatively and in all other aspects.
Here are some updates from my March 2016 listings. I have eliminated at least one opportunity that now charges 20.00, so…. :( let me know if you catch something I missed.

Kinematifest 3/23/17
Current High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Certificate students may submit projects for screening to Kinematifest for consideration. All entrants will be required to fill out our entry form, certifying that they meet the requirements, and that they hold all the rights to the materials that they have submitted. Entrants agree to allow Kinematifest and Webster University the rights to use these materials for promotional and educational purposes. Projects submitted to Kinematifest in past years are not eligible.
Portsmouth Short Film Night ongoing
Portsmouth Short Film Night is in Portsmouth, NH and we want to show your film! We’re looking for shorts of any type from independent filmmakers interested in screening their film to the public. Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival 4/1/17
seeks films that portray a broad range of experiences – destinations ranging from small African villages to a campground 30 miles from home; solo travel or a family reunion on bicycles; an organized tour from inn to inn or a shoestring jaunt with tent and sleeping bag. This is the only film festival in the USA that focuses specifically on bicycle travel. It intends to increase awareness and appreciation for bicycle travel by showcasing independent films that depict the adventure, humor, and growth inherent in two-wheeled journeys.

SUSTAINABILITY SHORTS FILM COMPETITION
SUSTAINABILITY SHORTS FILM COMPETITION 3/24/17 (5pm)
You are eligible for one of 3 prizes ($500, $300, $200) if you: 1. Create a short film about sustainability (under 10 minutes), 2. Submit it by March 24, 2017 All entries will be screened as part of the UNCG Sustainability Film and Discussion Series at the Weatherspoon Art Museum on Thursday, April 27, at 6:30pm, where winners will be announced and celebrated. Entries must address sustainability, which UNCG defines as the “enduring interconnectedness of social equity, the environment, the economy, and aesthetics.” Judging is based on relation to sustainability as well as concept, cinematography, acting, production quality, costuming, writing, etc.
Submit films on DVD or in screenable online format (YouTube, Vimeo) together with your name, phone number and email address, and the title and length of the film by 5pm on March 24, 2017 to Sarah Dorsey sbdorsey@uncg.edu (if you have questions, contact Sarah via email or at 336.334.5610). By entering the competition, entrants agree to the following: 1) Films must be original work, must not infringe on any rights of others, and must have all necessary permissions. UNCG will not be held liable for any copyright infringements. 2) To claim prizes, winners must be present (in person or via audio/video connection) at the screening. 3) Entrants will retain all ownership rights to their films. 4) UNCG reserves the right to not screen any film(s) for any reason. 5) Prizes are not negotiable or transferable. 6) The decisions of the judges are final.
8th Cerdanya Film Festival

We are looking for fiction, animation and documentary feature and short films, either national or international (subtitled). Only animated films that were completed after May 27th, 2016 are eligible. You must submit your entry form online through your OIAF login account. Your preview film must be submitted on a streamable URL link. The link must remain accessible until the end of July. If your film has dialogue that is not English and is not subtitled, you must include an English dialogue script. Director’s photograph (300 dpi), biography and 3 stills from the film (300 dpi) are required. If your film is selected, we must receive a high-definition Quicktime .mov file (H264 or ProRes only, minimum resolution 1920×1080). We can accept DCP for Competition films, however we require a .mov file as well in order to screen at our non-DCP venues as needed.

This May we are returning to the beautiful Anteros Art Gallery courtyard for another alfresco evening of shorts. We aim to combine film and animation, the funny and the beautiful, the short and the reaaally short; to create fun and light hearted evenings out and to provide a platform for films you don’t get to see in any standard setting such as a cinema or on TV. Cineclube Animassa
Cineclube Animassa is a film club focused on screening animated short films from all over the world. It takes place at RV Cultura & Arte, an art gallery/comic shop located at Salvador, Brazil. We accept animated short films (up to 30 minutes) from all over the world, produced in any year. Screenings will happen one Saturday per month, free of charge, and we also promote Q&As with local directors and producers. Our main interest is to build an audience for animated features in our city and diversify the cultural scene.
