DroneUp International Film Festival is set to celebrate and acknowledge the world’s best drone cinematography. The festival is held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, August 19th-20th, 2016leading up to the city’s hosting of the European Capital of Culture in 2019. Did you make the best drone film imaginable? Splendid! San Diego Jewish Film Festival 8/5/16
Short Film Showcase deadline. Mission: to offer outstanding world cinema in San Diego that portrays the Jewish experience from contemporary and historic perspectives. We do this to promote awareness, appreciation and pride in our diverse and shared culture.

FRINGE! Queer Film and Arts Fest 8/7/16
Fringe! is a film and arts festival rooted in London’s queer creative scene and welcoming everyone. We’re not-for-profit and run by a team of passionate volunteers. From feature films to experimental art, workshops to interactive walks and wild parties, Fringe! Fest 2016 will be hosting a multitude of diverse events to tickle every one of the senses. With our signature blend of eye opening movies, DIY and experimental work, the thoughtful, the provocative and the strange, we’ll be packing out cinemas, art galleries, pop-up venues and basement clubs.

Contact International Student Film Festival 8/10/16
The festival will be held from 17th to 21st October 2016 and will be divided into two different programs: 1. international competition of short films made by students currently enrolled in film and media courses or students that will graduate in the academic year 2015-2016;
2. out-of-competition film schools showcase, special programmes of International film schools and other special presentations.

Cinema Paradiso 8/15/16
Cinema under the stars — A very colorful caravan, a few beer benches, a piano and a popcorn machine. That’s all it takes for an open air cinema and the magic of Cinema Paradiso. In September 2016 the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus will present selected audiovisual works by young filmmakers from North African and Arab countries. The caravan will travel through the city of Düsseldorf/Germany and will stop at various refugee camps and in front of the Café Eden at Junges Schauspiel Düsseldorf. Your short film can have up to 30 minutes in length. You can submit in the following categories: fiction, documentary, experimental, animation.

SPE Film and Video Festival 8/31/16
The Society for Photographic Education (SPE) has featured a film and video festival of innovative and provocative short documentaries, animation and fiction as part of the Annual Conference since 1995. Categories: Short documentaries, animation and fiction by, for or about women,  LGBTQ,  or people of diverse cultural backgrounds, The Society for Photographic Education is the primary academic organization for photographic media professionals and the Annual Conference draws 1200-1500 participants annually.
