Hi all- I am going through my list for june. About 2/3 have updated, some have deadlines earlier this year, some later this year and some exactly the same. The Film Festival is divided into 3 competitive sections and accepts submissions of any short film produced after 1st January 2011. The maximum running time allowed is 35 minutes (including credits). MOVIE – International Fiction Films, Documentary Films, ANI&LAB – International Animation & Experimental Films, CORTITALIA – National Films of any genre. Marda Loop Justice Film Festival rolling deadline, documentary
The MLJFF is Canada’s premiere human rights, environmental, and social issues documentary film festival. The festival hosts an annual mid-November festival, a Calgary film series, and a traveling Canadian film series. Submit through WAB. (no fee, though)

AVANCA International Meeting of Cinema, TV, Video and Multimedia (Portugal) 5/10/15
No submission fee for the following: All works that were never screened and that make the AVANCA 2015 its premiere. Portuguese films or from African countries with official Portuguese language. DVD by mail, other required material should be sent by CD, email or wetransfer.

MIX Copenhagen 5/30/15
Oldest running film festival in Denmark and one of the oldest LGBT film festivals in the world. Submit by email with link to film.

TUFF- Toronto Urban Film Festival (ON) 05/31/2015* free submission ends at midnight
Call for submissions is open to international filmmakers, accepting all genres of silent, 1 minute film, video, and animation of interest to an urban audience.  TUFF, North America’s largest commuter film festival returns to Pattison Onestop subway platform screens across Toronto from September 5 – 15, 2014. The TUFF audience includes over 1 million daily commuters, and runs concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). TUFF screens at 10-minute intervals on over 290 platform screens in 63 stations across the Toronto subway system, and non-stop at designated “Film Zones” located at key downtown stations. La Jolla Fashion Film Festival (La Jolla, CA) 6/1/2015

a transnational film festival simultaneously taking place in ten cities on five continents worldwide. «shnit» is dedicated to celebrating and sharing with audiences the exciting world of short film. Both allow film to be in competition, one has a fee, the other does not. The pro category offers feedback on film, the basic category does not. withoutabox, for example, seems to only allow for the paid category.

Josiah Media Festival 6/01/15
Talented, young filmmakers, 21 years of age or under, can now submit their films for competition in this year’s Josiah Media Festival. Almost $2,000 in prizes will be awarded to winning filmmakers. Films should be no longer than 20 minutes trt and can be about anything you wish (no theme required). We accept films in the categories of narrative, animation, documentary, and experimental, which covers just about everything. DVD or thumb drive.

Princeton Student Film and Video Festival 06/01/15
The Princeton Student Film & Video Festival is sponsored by the Princeton Public Library. The mission of the festival is to encourage and support the work of youth filmmakers in a range of genres and styles, with the opportunity and a venue for the filmmakers to show their work to a broad audience. The festival is open to high school and college students and home-schooled, unschooled or not in school youth ages 14-25 from Princeton and all points beyond, both near and far.

PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival 6/15/15
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) again invite the world’s youth to submit original and creative videos focusing on PLURAL+ themes: migration, diversity and social inclusion. PLURAL+ is seeking for short videos, of up to 5 minutes. Entrants must be youth between the ages of 9-25.
