The next Portsmouth Short Film Night is happening Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH and we want to show your film! Submissions are rolling throughout the year, but the deadline for the next screening is coming up fast. Send in your film by December 31 to be considered! We’re looking for shorts of any type from independent filmmakers interested in screening their film to the public. It’s a great opportunity to connect with and build your audience, and submissions are completely free. Clear the Air Film Fest 02/01/2016
The fifth annual Clear the Air Film Fest will be on March 5, 2016 and is presented by local non-profit Breathe California. The Clear the Air Film Fest showcases student-produced short films that address topics on air quality, environmental health and lung health in California, with a goal of encouraging local young people to use film as a medium to interpret and change the world around them. Each year, Breathe California awards $3,000 in prizes to the winning filmmakers and past judges have included academy award nominated actor Mark Ruffalo, executive director of Greenpeace Annie Leonard and actress and activist Q’orianka Kilcher. Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Student Contest 6/13/16
The Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Student Contest is open to High School and Middle School students who want to use a creative medium – Art, Poetry, Prose, or Film – to communicate ocean science to the public and take a stand on environmental issues. In 2016, the theme is “Making Meaning out of Ocean Pollution” and over $80,000 is available in prizes, school donations, and scholarships. Top winners will receive $1,500 as well as opportunities to publish and exhibit their work. online submission.
