Zsigmond Vilmos Film Festival 3/1/17
Primarily aims at drawing attention to the work of cinematographers, one of the most important co-creators of a film, together with giving an opportunity to young artists to show their art. The open call focuses on university students or creative communities with members majoring in film studies, directing or cinematography from Central Europe, also including recent graduates (within 5-10 years).The call will be published in the countries of the wider Central European region (the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria) at every educational institution which offers studies in cinematography and film. New films, completed after 1 January 2014, and with unique vision and creative cinematography, which also characterised Zsigmond Vilmos’s work, can be submitted to the festival. There are no restrictions on theme, technical specifications, genre or length. One filmmaker can submit more than one film. The films will be grouped into different sections according to genre.

UPIKE Film & Media Arts Festival 3/5/17 *note: Films from Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia can be submitted for free. The goal of the UPIKE Film & Media Arts Festival is to promote the art of filmmaking on both the UPIKE campus in Pikeville, KY and in the surrounding tri-state region.  We accept paid submissions from the other 47 United States (sorry, no international submitters).

13th Kecskemét Animation Film Festival and 10th Festival of European Animated Feature Films and TV-Films. Kecskemét Animation Film Festival (KAFF) is two festivals in parallel: the festival of Hungarian animation films and the international festival of European ANIMATED FEATURES, TV-SPECIALS and TV-SERIES. In addition to films, it hosts a range of concerts, exhibitions and workshops.

Kinematifest 3/23/17
Current High School, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Certificate students may submit projects for screening to Kinematifest for consideration. All entrants will be required to fill out our entry form, certifying that they meet the requirements, and that they hold all the rights to the materials that they have submitted. Entrants agree to allow Kinematifest and Webster University the rights to use these materials for promotional and educational purposes. Projects submitted to Kinematifest in past years are not eligible.

SUSTAINABILITY SHORTS FILM COMPETITION 3/24/17 (5pm)
You are eligible for one of 3 prizes ($500, $300, $200) if you: 1. Create a short film about sustainability (under 10 minutes), 2. Submit it by March 24, 2017 All entries will be screened as part of the UNCG Sustainability Film and Discussion Series at the Weatherspoon Art Museum on Thursday, April 27, at 6:30pm, where winners will be announced and celebrated.  Entries must address sustainability, which UNCG defines as the “enduring interconnectedness of social equity, the environment, the economy, and aesthetics.” Judging is based on relation to sustainability as well as concept, cinematography, acting, production quality, costuming, writing, etc.Submit films on DVD or in screenable online format (YouTube, Vimeo) together with your name, phone number and email address, and the title and length of the film by 5pm on March 24, 2017 to Sarah Dorsey sbdorsey@uncg.edu (if you have questions, contact Sarah via email or at 336.334.5610). By entering the competition, entrants agree to the following: 1) Films must be original work, must not infringe on any rights of others, and must have all necessary permissions.
