What is Womanimation!? As the name implies, it’s a festival showcasing acclaimed animated films created by women from around the world. From satire to drama, from the everyday to the surreal – in styles from traditional 2-d to stop-motion to computer animation – the festival features something for every taste. The eleventh edition of Womanimation! will take place on Saturday 29th June.

Chinese American Film Festival6/12/19
The Chinese American Film Festival (CAFF) was founded in 2005 by EDI Media Inc. (USA). It is the most authoritative and influential annual Chinese American cultural event connecting two of the world’s largest film markets. Every year in November, which coincides with the American Film Market (AFM), CAFF hosts its Opening Ceremony and Golden Angel Award in Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world. Hundreds of top box office films from China-US participate in CAFF, of which the Top 10 are selected and awarded with the Golden Angel, named after the city of Los Angeles.
CAFF is the only Chinese American cultural event in the United States that is officially recognized by both the U.S. and Chinese governments. In 2014, it became the only China-US film festival recorded in the 5th Round of China-US High-level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange and Cultural Activities as a national event. CAFF is also the only China-US film cultural events formally written in the U.S. Congress report, as part of U.S. History.

It also presents an opportunity for filmmakers to screen their films for the communities living in Dadaab and Kakuma Refugee Camps, as well as in multiple locations in Nairobi.

San Diego Underground Film Festival (SDUFF) is San Diego’s premier showcase of experimentation in video, film, and audio based mediums. A strong DIY ethos, combined with an art school brain and a punk rock heart makes the San Diego Underground Film Festival a unique place for films, videos, and audio pieces that strive to push the boundaries of accepted form and content. Films and videos that dissent radically in form or technique will be our priority in selections. Narrative films and documentaries that expand on narrative structure, or cover subjects related to subcultures or esoteric topics; animations both narrative and experimental; experimental films and video art; all will be considered for selection. Films and videos must show a strong sense of authorship. *All animation and under 20 seconds is free year-round. Finished on Film & Installation, Performance & New Media category do not have a submission fee.
Short of the Year 06/21/19
PROMOFEST opens the call for entries of SHORT OF THE YEAR – SPRING. Every season 50 works will be selected. The winner of each season will be awarded with 250 submissions to film festivals (for free) and will directly become one of the films selected for The Short of the Year. The grand prize consists in 1000 submissions to festivals (for free).

TIRANA INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL 6/23/19
DocuTIFF invites all documentaries from established and debut filmmakers alike to apply their films in International Competition and In Albanian Competition. DocuTIFF aims to encouraging documentary film production in Albania and to give more chances to our filmmakers finding cooperation and enabling mutual contacts with their colleagues in our region, to build up a favorable climate creation in Albania and wider in region for development and cooperation of such productions. DocuTIFF last year screened 180 films in three venues as well as in open air making it the largest film festival of its kind in Albania and one of the most important in the region. There are no entry fees for films in Albanian language.

Our goal in bringing to life the first edition of the Warsaw Animation Festival is to nurture the awareness of animation as a medium not only aimed at entertaining and educating young audiences, but also a powerful and diverse artistic statement with power to change the world. The festival’s competition programme will consist of the latest Polish as well as International shorts and will be accompanied by special screenings of animation documentary films, music clips, meetings and workshops.
