Princeton Student Film and Video Festival: 06/01/17
The Princeton Student Film & Video Festival is in its 10th consecutive year, and it is sponsored by the Princeton Public Library. The mission of the festival is to encourage and support the work of youth filmmakers in a range of genres and styles, with the opportunity and a venue for the filmmakers to show their work to a broad audience. The festival is open to high school and college students and home-schooled, unschooled or not in school youth ages 14-25 from Princeton and all points beyond, both near and far.

Josiah Media Festival 6/01/17
The Josiah Media Festival is open to any filmmaker 21 years old or younger from anywhere in the world. However, filmmakers over 21 can also enter their film(s): any film(s) made while the filmmaker was 21 or younger is still eligible for competition and prizes!

PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival 6/4/17
The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) again invite the world’s youth to submit original and creative videos focusing on PLURAL+ themes: migration, diversity and social inclusion. PLURAL+ is seeking for short videos, of up to 5 minutes. Entrants must be youth between the ages of 9-25. Preferably all videos should be submitted on DVDs, or through a file hosting website of choice (MediaFire, YouSendit,)

Folks can submit any new animated short story driven projects (2016 or 2017 films) for consideration for Womanimation! 2017 being held on July 8th, 2017. Please do not resubmit films that have already submitted to us in the past. Submission form.

Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (Budapest, Hungary) 6/10/17
Verzio aims to promote open society, democratic values, rule-of-law, freedom of expression, political and cultural pluralism as well as to expose abuse and human rights violations throughout the world by presenting quality, creative documentaries. For the last 13 years Verzio grew dynamically, has screened more than 700 documentaries attracting altogether over 80,000 visitors. Three categories: International Panorama, Student Film Competition and Hungarian Panorama. International Panorama is a selection of powerful and creative documentaries on human rights and social issues. ZOOM IN Student Film Competition is a selection of the best recent student/diploma films addressing human rights issues. Hungarian Panorama is a selection of best recent human rights documentaries produced in Hungary.

LINOLEUM International Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival 6/11/17

International Video Art Festival Transmission 6/15/17
Open Call for 2017 edition of International Video Art Festival Transmission 20 – 23 July 2017. TRANSMISSION ART FESTIVAL 2017 invites everyone to submit videos to the 2nd edition of the Festival, which takes place simultaneously in Karlsruhe (DE), Warsaw (PL) and Kassel (DE) in July 2017. Both established artists and new talents are encouraged to submit works on the theme “We Are All in this Together – A Road Map Through a Post-Truth Art World”. Does art have anything to contribute to the post-truth, post-democracy world? Is it the time for us to start producing noise, politicizing aesthetic practices or just turn full-time towards political activism? In the era of post-truth politics, alternative facts and fake news campaigns undermining our democracies, we would like to invite experimental film makers and video artists to take a stand in the overwhelming ethical ambiguity of our time.

AninetFest  6/15/17
An international competition and online platform that serves to support the animated short films and their creators. At the same time it serves to the promotion, propagation, retrieval and watching possibilities of the best animated short films from around the world. It should also be a place where community of creative people that producing these films meet. On the other hand, then the place for people who enjoy watching of these films and that are fans of this kind of art. Student films only.

Call for Submissions: Somerset Community College Theatre & Film welcomes submissions of films no longer than fifteen minutes in length. Selected films will be showcased at the Festival on September 14 and 15; 2017. Awards will be presented for outstanding achievements by the official selections. Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival 6/30/17

Jihlava IDFF has been chosen by the European Film Academy (EFA) as one of the European documentary festivals to pre-select films for the European Award for the Best Documentary Film of the Year. Each of the festivals nominates one film directed by a European director and released in world premiere directly to EFA’s pre-selection. EFA considers all other world premieres of European films and may add them to the pre-selection.
