Short Film Category. The World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb, established in 1972, is the second oldest film festival in the world completely dedicated to animation. Launched thanks to the global reputation of the filmmakers sprung from the Zagreb School of Animation, founded based on the decision of ASIFA, International Animated Film Association, Zagreb Film production company and City of Zagreb, Animafest Zagreb takes place every year early in June.

Transilvania International Film Festival (Romania) 2/1/20
(TIFF) is organized by Romanian Film Promotion and it is the first international feature film festival in Romania. The main objective of Transilvania IFF is to promote the cinematic art by presenting some of the most significant films of the moment, films which exhibit not only originality and independence of expression, but also unusual forms of cinematic language and modern trends of the young culture.
The call for entries is already open for the International Film Contests Animayo 2019, Qualifying festival for the OSCAR® in the animated short film category. Animayo winners will be eligible for consideration in the “Animated Short Film” of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules. Exclusive for applying to works of 2D animation, 3D animation, visual effects, experimental, advertising, animated spots, music videos and video games cinematics.

The Unprecedented Cinema – International Festival of Short Film 2/2/20
The festival is being conducted since the year 2001, and its task is to show as widely as possible, the condition of the contemporary audiovisual creations of young authors. Films from 70 countries were exhibited during the previous festivals.
The competition is divided into different age categories: fiction short films, animated short films, experimental short films, music video. The works of the cinema – institute students and the works of professional authors are judged separately.
Telefilm Talent to Watch Canada 2/4/20
Reel Asian’s Telefilm Talent to Watch application is currently open. Reel Asian will select an applicant that the festival will recommend to Telefilm’s Talent to Watch program. The Annecy International Animation Film Festival (French: Festival International du Film d’Animation d’Annecy, abbreviated as AIAFF) was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the Association Internationale du Film d’Animation(or ASIFA, the International Animated Film Association).
